Parents,

It has been a wonderful start to the school year.  The children are doing a great job learning the routines and expectations of full day of kindergarten.  The kids are excited to learn and I have already grown to appreciate and enjoy their individuality.  Everyone is doing an amazing job transitioning throughout the school day. 

               Academically, we are working on recognizing rhyming words, beginning sounds, matching upper and lower case letters.   Repetitive predictable texts are being used for directionality and matching text to voice.  The children are excited and proud of their emerging reading skills.  In math, students are working on correctly writing their numbers, counting and recognizing that a number represents quantity. 

               The kids enter and leave school with smiles on their faces.
