Busy Kids

Room 15 is working hard!  

The kids built each number 0 - 5 on the number line.  They noticed the addition of one more as they went up the number line and one less when they went down.  They even said it was a pattern.  We started talking about why 3 is 2 more than 1 while looking at the cubes and the number line.  The kids thinking and their math talks inspire me every single day!  It is amazing what they share when you give them time to explain their thinking.

 We have started matching beginning sounds with letters.

 Can you believe they can tell how many are hidden under the question mark?  Yes, they are doing "mental" math!

AMAZING!

Everyone is playing and working together so well.  The Bear Jar has already been filled and the first fun activity has been chosen.  The children have learned the work board and are rotating through math and literacy centers.  The kids are excited to learn and share what they already know.  Today everyone became a cutting ninja.
